Risks in undertaking this activity include personal injury and illness as a result of adverse weather conditions.The staff and management of the Tuatapere Hump Track Ltd take all practicable steps to identify and minimize potential dangers. However, you must follow our instructions and recommendations at all times. Adults accompanying any persons under the age of 18 must ensure that the underage person follows our instructions at all times. You must release or indemnify the Tuatapere Hump Track Ltd and our staff against any liability we incur to anyone else, resulting from your failure to follow our instructions or recommendations or the failure of any persons accompanying you under the age of 18 to follow our instructions.We reserve the right to withdraw any person who in our opinion is likely to endanger themselves or others. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip if we become concerned for any reason for your safety or that of any other person. Approximate travel times given are for a person with a good level of fitness. If you feel in any way you are unable to complete any legs of the track in the appropriate time you must take action accordingly to minimize risk and harm to yourself and your party.All customers of the Tuatapere Hump Track Ltd are entitled to access any information held by the operator and are entitled to request correction of any information held by the operator.It is advisable to carry a cell phone with you in the event of an emergency - contact Track Base on 03 22 66 739. Please ensure you commence walking early enough to reach your intended lodge by 5 pm. If you are still on track after 5 pm, please call Track Base to confirm your location and estimated time of arrival. If you are not in an hour before sundown, the Tuatapere Hump Track Ltd may consider sending a search party to look for you. This is disruptive to our lodges and staff duties; your communication is imperative.WARNING: Under New Zealand law it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to sue anyone if you are injured. In addition, New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme provides only limited assistance to visitors who are injured in New Zealand. We strongly recommend that all visitors to New Zealand have full insurance covering any injury they might suffer, including medical treatment cover, before undertaking this activity.EXCLUSIONS: To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded. This exclusion is subject to any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.We do not recommend the Tuatapere Humpridge Track for children under 10 years.
