Flatcreek Helipad to Okaka Lodge
5-6 hours, 12km

The day starts with a scenic helicopter flight over the Te Waewae Bay to Flatcreek, and your pack being flown to Okaka Lodge awaiting your arrival. Your walk consists of steady climb on the inland track through native bush to our alpine Okaka Lodge 835m above sea level. Stopping at various points with your guides offering hot tea, coffee and snacks along the way. After arriving at Okaka, the additional loop track above the lodge, gives you 360 degree dramatic views of Western Fiordland, Southern Ocean, Stewart Island and Western Southland. The loop track ascends to 950m above sea level.

Port Craig Lodge to Rarakau Carpark
5-7 hours, 20.2km

Undulating walk through coastal forest and beaches to Flatcreek before retracing your steps back to the Rarakau Carpark. Look out for Hectors Dolphins, Fiordland Crested Penguins, and both Podocarp and Beech Trees.
