Day 1:
Rarakau Carpark to Okaka Lodge
6-8 hours, 20.5km
The track begins with a flat traverse through native bush and on the coastline for the first 15km. Followed by a steady inland climb for the next 6km through native bush to our alpine Okaka Lodge to 835m above sea level. The additional loop track above the lodge, gives you 360 dramatic views of Western Fiordland, Southern Ocean, Stewart Island and Western Southland. The loop track ascends to 950m above sea level.

Day 2:
Okaka to Port Craig Lodge
6-8 hours, 20.7km
Commences with a gradual and undulating ridgeline descent to Luncheon Rock. Enjoy panoramic views, descending further through ancient forests towards the south coast track. Follow the trameline traversing historic wooden viaducts before arriving at Port Craig Lodge.

Day 3:
Port Craig Lodge to Rarakau Carpark
5-7 hours, 20.2km
Undulating walk through coastal forest and beaches to Flatcreek before retracing your steps back to the Rarakau Carpark. Look out for Hectors Dolphins, Fiordland Crested Penguins, and both Podocarp and Beech Trees.
